Comprised of several separate sites, the Danbury Museum & Historical Society offers a glimpse into Danbury's past through historical preservation and educational programs. Built in the late 1700s, the John and Mary Rider House and the Dodd Hat Shop give visitors a glimpse into the architecture and artifacts from this time-period while the Charles Ives Birthplace and Marian Anderson studio are from later time periods. Housing the museum's offices, Huntington Hall offers a research library and provides space for rotating exhibitions. The Charles Ives Birthplace is located along Mountainville Avenue and west of Rogers Park, while the rest of the museum's buildings reside north of Rogers Park.
Open Tue., Thurs., and Sat. 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Free.
